Based in the Firm’s Kansas City office, Shivani Patel focuses her practice on the defense of workers’ compensation claims. She represents employers and insurance carriers in Missouri and Kansas, handling matters from initial evaluation through resolution, including assessing compensability, analyzing medical and wage records, drafting pleadings, and assisting with discovery, mediations, and proceedings before the Division of Workers’ Compensation. Shivani is licensed in Missouri and Kansas and is a member of the Missouri Bar and the Kansas Bar. Prior to joining Hennessy & Roach, P.C., Shivani gained administrative and legal experience in both litigation and in-house settings. She worked with a hospitality company on corporate compliance, real estate transactions, contract management, and insurance-related matters, and assisted with legal research and case preparation across arbitration, employment law, and regulatory compliance issues. Shivani earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law. During law school, she served in leadership roles in the Association for Women Law Students and the Federal Bar Association, gained hands-on experience through the Entrepreneurial Legal Services and Intellectual Property Clinics, and served as a research assistant supporting academic and business law initiatives. She was also recognized on the Dean’s List. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Business Administration, summa cum laude, from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. In her free time, Shivani enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and relaxing with her dog, Sophy.
