Nick is the Chairperson of Hennessy & Roach’s Insurance Coverage Practice Group. During his numerous years in private practice and in the Law Department of one of the country’s largest property and casualty insurance companies, he has had extensive experience litigating insurance coverage issues, defending liability claims, litigating class actions, defending False Claim Act litigation, and litigating other complex litigation. Many of his cases made law on significant property insurance issues relating to catastrophe losses, and on important casualty insurance issues such as the validity and application of various insurance policy provisions and issues relating to liability insurer’s duties to third parties. Nick has also provided insurance company business units with legal advice relating to their processes and procedures, provided responses to governmental agency inquiries and investigations, and provided legal advice to non-insurance business clients regarding contracts, compliance and other matters. Outside of practicing law, Nick most enjoys spending time with his family and friends. In addition, he has been involved in sports his whole life, from football back in the glory days to rugby for decades, running marathons – including Boston, and most recently rowing/sculling. However, he admits that he cannot play golf to save his life. He has also been a chanter of Byzantine Music at his church for over 20 years.
